Summary of the bill.
The bill proposes assigning the Judicial Branch responsibilities for community justice of the peace. These include staff funding, statistics on community justice centers, and service organization. It also changes the qualifications for serving as a community judge, family relationship restrictions, and the appeal process; repeals several provisions of the existing law; and provides for a deferred effective date.
