Summary of the bill.
The bill proposes to approve the Protocol to Amend the International Agreement for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas. The Protocol, done in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, extends conservation coverage to certain elasmobranchs, changes the fisheries commission’s organization and decision making, governs recommendations and disputes, and sets conditions for a fishing entity’s participation. The proposed law would take effect upon promulgation.
