Summary of the bill.
The bill proposes to regulate domestic and international operations involving high fructose corn syrup and sugar-sweetened beverages containing it. It establishes customs restrictions, inventory and labeling duties, removal of those beverages from the domestic market, and substitution of the syrup with natural sweeteners. It also provides for detention of goods, reporting of violations, and consequences for noncompliance.
