Summary of the bill.
The draft bill proposes rules for marketing, labeling, displaying, and advertising substitute or imitation foods in Panama. It would require identification on packaging and at points of sale, reserve certain product names, allocate responsibilities among commercial actors, and establish verification and penalties. It also addresses the protection of designations of origin and geographical indications and would repeal Law 113 of November 18, 2019.
