Summary of the bill.
The bill would regulate aquatic rescue in public or collectively used spaces and create a national authority to oversee it. It would set lifeguard qualification requirements, staffing and safety equipment rules, labor rights, a professional register, and penalties. It would also recognize aquatic rescue as a sport and repeal the previous law governing the occupation.
