Summary of the bill.
The bill proposes to regulate foster care for children and adolescents deprived of family care as a temporary protection measure. It gives priority to extended family and other family placements and would create a Family Foster Care System administered by the National Secretariat for Children, Adolescents and the Family (Secretaría Nacional de Niñez, Adolescencia y Familia). It would establish rights and assessment and monitoring procedures and reserve residential care for exceptional circumstances.
