Summary of the bill.
The bill proposes a matrimonial compensatory pension for a spouse whose household or caregiving work limited their employment or career. The pension would cover a spouse whose work in the home or care for dependent family members limited or interrupted their employment or professional development. It amends the Family Code (Código de la Familia) to address spouses’ contributions to marital expenses and to govern how that pension is awarded, paid, reviewed and terminated.
