Summary of the bill.
The draft bill would amend defense rights and advance taking of evidence in sexual offense proceedings involving child victims. It would appoint a public defender for an investigated person who has no defense counsel from the victim’s first interview. That interview would qualify as advance judicial evidence and would be expanded only at the victim’s request.
