The draft bill proposes adding rules to the Civil Code (Código Civil) for the succession treatment of digital assets in a deceased person’s estate. It defines those assets regardless of economic value, gives priority to instructions expressed during the person’s lifetime, and allows a judge to require information or controlled access from those who manage the assets when identification, preservation or valuation is necessary.
